Apple will not succeed in India. Indians are cost conscious. They will not pay big money for iPhones. Why would Indians pay more money for iPhone when Android phones can do the same work.
Lot of excuses where given. But it turns out Indians are no different than any other human beings. If they have money, they will buy iPhones.
